In de zomer van 2018 wil de European Huntington Association bewustzijn creëren rondom de ziekte van Huntington op een positieve en vooral leuke én sportieve manier! Het gaat hier om een wielerwedstrijd onder de slogan ''HD on the Bike''.

In the summer of 2018 the European Huntington Association wants to create awareness around Huntington’s disease in a positive and fun way. It's about a biking race under the slogan ''HD on the Bike''.

Lichamelijke activiteit is de meest efficiënte "pil" van vandaag de dag voor de ziekte van Huntington. Men beweert ook dat beweging het beste medicijn is, ongeacht welke ziekte. Lichamelijke activiteit stimuleert je humeur, energie en bevordert een betere nachtrust. Het kan leuk, sociaal en ... extreem moeilijk zijn. Dus waarom niet de behandeling combineren met bewustzijn? Met deze aspecten in het achterhoofd, is iedereen uitgenodigd om deel te nemen aan deze wielerwedstrijd met de slogan "HD on the Bike".

De race vindt plaats op 18 augustus 2018, in de Ardennen (gelegen tussen Frankrijk, België en Luxemburg). Het heet Les Géants des Ardennes. Het is een eendaagse race en je kunt kiezen uit drie etappes zoals 80, 112 of 153 km. Doe mee met ''HD on the Bike'' om bewustzijn te creëren!

Physical activity is the most efficient “pill” for Huntington's disease known today. It is also claimed to be the best medicine regardless of disease. Physical activity boosts you mood, energy and promotes better sleep. It can be fun, social and... extremely hard (but in the end the so called “runners high” weigh up for that last part). So why not combine treatment with awareness?

With these aspects in mind, You're all invited to join in this biking race under the slogan ''HD on the Bike''.

The race will be taking place August 18. 2018, in The Ardennes (located between France, Belgium and Luxembourg). It is called Les Géants des Ardennes. It is a one-day race and you can choose between three stages like 80, 112 or 153 km.
